NOT KEEP NO SECRETS OF THE WAVE OF UFO SIGHTINGS *** 1978/79
Immediately after the broadcast in which I was interviewed Voyager on the wave of UFO sightings of 1978, my home phone began to ring incessantly. They were friends from all over Italy, a former fellow soldiers, fellow students, amateurs, who congratulated me and praised the author and presenter of the broadcast itself considered one of the most interesting series of network RAI. The next morning I open the PC and get congratulatory messages in your mailbox.
Apart from the sense of personal satisfaction to be the subject of much attention (I honestly have not done anything extraordinary), it seemed strange that there was no criticism.
But I was wrong, because after a few days began to get calls from people (less than half a dozen) almost unknown to me after the usual praise (do not know how far genuine) asked me, essentially, in my interview if I forget something important.
Basically I was asked and I still required to disclose hypothetical secret that I do not know and could not know anyway. For example, in some quarters it is believed that the result of my investigation into the mysterious death of the brothers De Flgentiis, reported on UFO News, stored as a marine casualty, was false because I trust the Harbour then "imposed" such a conclusion.
Obviously someone does not like my attitude of caution about the problem OVNI that has remote origins. Many years ago, during the Cold War (1954/56) in the Gulf of Taranto sometimes our vessels to the surface (it happened to me once) came in contact with sonar targets unknown sum very fast (35 knots and more ) that could not be sure of the submarines. I worked for a specialist that I have limited myself to give the position, course and speed of the target. The head of the operations center, while noting the anomaly as "speed", we thought it was a wrong assessment. This was considered
likely due to the objective difficulty for the detection of submerged bodies; sonar fact may receive false echoes, depending on water temperature variation along the path of the ultrasonic beam. The question remained, however. He was a Soviet nuclear submarine or something?
Finally I can say is how I did it several times on this site and on many other occasions, I believe that the existence of the UFO, not secured any secrets, but I have my feet on the ground and try not to pollute the serious ufology with reckless statements that would only create confusion and false expectations among the public.
